On Saturday night, I felt inspired to make my own face mask, so I did a little researching on pumpkin and oatmeal. Who knew that these are great for the face?! Good news, my friend Sam knew (check her out here) and she gave me the 411: Pumpkin and honey have enzymes to lightly exfoliate ,and oats will calm the skin. She also mentioned this could be a great snack. I totally agree! Mark (my hubby) threatened to sleep eat my face, LOL! Good thing it’s only on for 20 minutes! Phew!
I also had the opportunity to try this face mask out on my mom and sister. I went up to Michigan for a little visit and we enjoyed some good quality girl time. We watched Love Actually, had a glass of wine and tried out the mask. The hardest part is the application (if you’ve tried this, share your tips in the comments below). My mom literally just called to tell me that someone commented this afternoon on how great her skin looks! Oatmeal Pumpkin Face mask with Frankincense and Jojoba oil moisturizer chaser is worth a try! So far it’s been a big hit…and if you get hungry, just snack on your face 😉
Oatmeal Pumpkin Face Mask
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/3 cup boiling water
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsb honey
Pour boiling water into oats, let sit for 3-5 minutes. Add honey and stir, then add pumpkin and stir until fully combined. Scoop and dab onto face (this is the hardest part). Let sit for 20 minutes, wipe off with warm wash cloth. Moisturize with 3-4 drops of doTerra Frankincense oil & Jojoba oil.
Enjoy!
