When you look into the mirror, you don’t see the real you. You are distracted by all of your imperfections, self-judgments, and comparisons. You feel tired and worn out by working so hard at keeping up appearances. Fear drives your thoughts, words, and deeds.
I get it, I’ve been there too.
I spent much of my life hating the way I looked. I struggled, trying to figure out who I was and where I belonged. I knew that inner mean girl well…and I knew the outer one too. If you looked at me right now, you would have a hard time believing any of this were true.
This was me. I chose different.
I know your truth and I’m not afraid of it. I’m not afraid of your truth because I’m not afraid of mine. Our stories, our journeys, the details are different, but we’re the same. We’re all here living our human experience, doing the very best we can with what we’ve got when we’ve got it.
I’m not here to judge your truth, your story or you. My story is messy too. I am who I am today because of my scars and struggles. I am me because of my story. The me I have become is the exact me I want to be.
You can be the exact you that you want to be too.
