“I am craving GREENS!!!”

OrangeArugulaJuice“I am craving GREENS!!!”  This is the message I received from one of the people who recently completed the 12 day whole food cleanse program that was offered in September.   This statement was amazing because at the start of the program she really wanted to eat hot dogs and Frosted Flakes and was having a hard time letting those items go.

I could not help but laugh when I received the “I am craving GREENS!!!”  message and also feel so very excited for this person.  All of the participants shared messages of increased self-awareness and areas of personal growth and change.  Several people experienced weight loss and expressed surprise at losing weight while eating consistently and not feeling hungry or deprived.  And most importantly each person was able to identify changes that they made over the 12 days that they fully intended to continue with.  If each time a person does a cleanse program they were able to continue on with one thing – whether it’s a new recipe, a decrease in sugar intake, or an increase in greens – that person will be comfortably on their way to achieving lifelong healthy habits.

I decided to participate in this round of the program as well.  I really enjoyed the opportunity to reboot my system and remind myself how wonderful I feel when I eat a very clean and nutrient dense diet.  My skin is brighter and I feel lighter.  It is also tough for me  to eliminate things I enjoy for 12 days (I really missed Sunday brunch) but it is so very worth it to me in the end.  Doing a cleanse program allows me to realign myself with my intention for health and wellness and the group format was so much fun!

Try this simple and delicious juice that was part of the program recipes:

Orange Arugula Juice                                                                                                               Juice several oranges and blend with a handful of arugula in blender – add arugula to taste

Orange juice packs the powerful antioxidant Vitamin C and may protect against inflammation, reduce bad cholesterol, and help improve blood pressure. Arugula is packed with calcium, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, iron, and carotenoids and is low in oxalates.  Arugula falls in the cruciferous vegetable category which has shown promising data in research as a potential protective factor for certain types of cancer.

If you are ready to set some healthy intentions and give your system a chance to balance, revitalize, and thrive I encourage you to try our 12 day cleanse program!
