On a recent visit to my parents’ house in Michigan two birds flew in through the open door of their screened in porch. One flew out, the other remained.
The poor bird was there for hours. The door was still wide open. His friend had found his way out, but this little guy just could not see how to free himself no matter what.
He kept flying into the screens over and over and over again. The fascinating part was that he flew around hitting all the sections of the porch EXCEPT THE SECTION THAT LED TO FREEDOM. It was clear he wanted out, he was trying, but he was stuck. Trapped even with the door wide open.
Have you ever felt trapped? Or had the thought that no matter how hard you try, you’re stuck, you simply cannot get out?
It’s not uncommon to be so laser focused on one solution that we simply cannot see that all we need to do is stop, take a breath, and turn around.
The bird was able to finally find his way, but not until my Dad came home to offer an assist. The bird was clearly terrified but with my Dad’s help he was able to turn around and fly to freedom.
We all need an assist from time to time. I’ve had to call on lots of people recently as I navigate big changes in my personal life (new house and baby on the way) and big changes in my business life (new program launch and website). Luckily I have a strong network of family, friends and coaches who I can call on when I feel so overwhelmed that I can’t see my way out.
If you are ready to find your freedom as 2015 comes to a close, I would love to chat with you about my new program “6 Weeks to Redefine Your Life and Live with Intention.” So far it’s been receiving rave reviews and I would love for you to have the opportunity to end the year feeling strong.
There’s just one catch – there are only two spots available (several current clients jumped at the opportunity before the official launch) and those two spots will only be available until November 27th. So if you’re interested, schedule a phone call here to make sure this program is the very best option for you.
Cheers to ending 2015 with a bang!
