Are you guilty of playing it safe?

Sometimes I catch myself playing it safe – by “being busy” aka avoiding the thing that’ll actually get me to where I want to go because it feels too hard or too risky. Does that ever happen to you?

By ignoring what you truly want you’re blocking yourself from ever being able to actually have it and that’s no way to live. You deserve to go all in on yourself. You deserve to give yourself a chance to be happy. To feel excited about life again. To approach things with curiosity and anticipation…and yes fear, too.

Being afraid isn’t a bad thing.

Sure you don’t want to be hurt again, I get that. But playing it safe, being risk adverse, not wanting to set yourself up for failure – THAT IS HURTING YOU MORE.

You’ve got to be willing to act AND to be afraid at the same time.

Scary? Yes!

Worth it? YES!

So today, grab a pen and a piece of paper. At the top of that paper write “I want…” and just write every single thing that comes to mind. It’s okay if you start with a Starbucks, sunshine and a nice beach vacation.

Then take it to the next level. Think about who you want to be, how you want to feel, and what you want to experience in this one precious lifetime.

Give yourself the chance to see what you can make happen – you’ll be surprised at all the amazing things you can do.

You can achieve your goals. You can do so many of the things you want to do. The real question is, do you want to? Do you want to take the risk? Do you want to give up being comfortable? Do you want to go all in on yourself?

Because if you do, you’ve got to stop playing it safe and take that big gamble on you. The time will pass anyways, use it wisely!
